New 2021 Product Announcements From Alpa
ALPA ALPAGON 5.6/23 mm SB17 for Aperture Mount
The ALPA ALPAGON 5.6/23 mm is now officially available as a Short Barrel 17 lens with an aperture mount. This version with a recessed lensboard was one of the last wishes of Alpa’s late Chinese partner Fred Zhou. In his memory, Alpa first offered this version exclusively for partners in Beijing. Now Alpa offers this special version for all partners and customers, worldwide. The short-barrel version is fully integrated into the ALPA world.
- Version for aperture mount (Copal 0 feasible but not recommended)
- Integrated ALPA HPF ring with meter and feet scale
- Integrated rear lens protection against mechanical damage
Alpa is working on a version optimized for use with X-Shutter and Copal 0. This version is expected in Q3 2021.
New ALPA HAA Mk II adjustable digital back adapter
NEW – ALPA ALPAGON 5.6/23 mm SB17 for Aperture Mount
The back-mount of the Hasselblad V cameras is, or was, probably the most widespread connection for accessories and digital backs in the world. This fact made it necessary for adapters to be manufactured so that they were compatible with as many accessories as possible. One consequence of this compatibility was their often less than perfect fit with a tad of radial play. Nothing serious, but not ALPA-like.
Hasselblad has now addressed this problem with the 907x and the CFV II 50c by introducing a locking pin. Alpa’s latest adapter type HAA in version Mk II also has this pin, which guarantees an optimal fit. For older digital backs, the user can remove this pin.

New ALPA XF / MA645 Mk V adjustable digital back adapter
The only constant in life is change. Alpa has revived the elaborate AB adapter to compensate for the occasional mechanical differences between individual back generations. This adapter allows the lower adapter hinge/bracket to be shimmed. The Mk V version of Alpa’s digital back adapter for XF (IQ3 and IQ4) comes with mini-shims that allow individual adjustment to each back.
