My favorite accessory is the 907x Control Grip.

This allows me to hold the camera with much more precision and minimize camera shake thanks to the ergonomic design. For my personal preferences, the placement of the shutter release button on the top of the grip is far easier to reach and control as compared to where it is located on the camera body. The grip also allows you to use the touchscreen more easily as the buttons on the body are easy to accidentally press when holding just the camera by itself.

It also allows for quick adjustments of the aperture, shutter speed, and fast AF point selection via the joystick control. 30 customizable functions can be programmed into the grip for quick recall.

The next most important accessory is the Dual Battery Charging Hub & Extra Battery.

The camera comes with a single battery and a charging cable in the box. Having only the cable means you must charge batteries inside the camera, and you can only charge one at a time.

We highly recommend purchasing at least one spare battery and a charging hub. This allows you to charge 2 batteries at once, as well as charge the battery independently of the camera. This way, if your first battery dies, you can continue to shoot while charging the spare on the hub.

We would hardly call these two add-ons optional!

After that is your X lens adapters.

If you are coming from a Classic V system, the XV lens adapter will allow you to mount and use your existing V lenses.

If you are coming from the H system, the XH lens adapter will provide you with the ability to use your H lenses. Many of these will work in Auto Focus mode, but see our notes on firmware your lens must have in to use the autofocus feature.

Then your Release Cord X

The release cord x is used to minimize camera shake by eliminating the vibrations produced from pressing directly onto the camera’s shutter button. This will ensure sharper images, especially when capturing at lower shutter speeds.

While this can also be accomplished by using a delay, there are a few drawbacks to this method. The release cord X triggers your shutter instantly to capture the moment. With a delay, you’ll need more forethought to make sure your shutter captures at the right time. With a fleeting moment, you may just miss it!

Then 907x Optical Viewfinder

Reminiscent of the Hasselblad SWC viewfinder, the 907X Optical Viewfinder allows for simple eye-level shooting. For those looking for that classic Hasselblad shooting experience, this accessory is for you.

The original OVF has a wide field of view and markings for XCD 21, 30 and 45mm and a center cross for an autofocus point. The new OVF released with the 907X & CFV 100C has upgraded markings for the XCD 28P, 38, and 55mm.

Don’t forget Your Tether Cable!

The cable depicted here is the TetherPro USB-C to USB-C cable – Part Number “CUC15” for reference. We would recommend this or any straight cable that you trust.

Due to the placement of the port on Hasselblad camera bodies, right-angled cables sit too tightly up against the body of the camera nearly preventing them from plugging into the port. They can fit, but just barely.

Dont Leave Your Cleaning Kit at Home

Oh, the pain of seeing spots on your image from a dust spec on your sensor! Don’t settle for retouching them out in post. They can easily be controlled by using our recommended sensor cleaning products!

Orbit Dust Air Blower with HEPA Filter 

When you squeeze the blower, it draws air through the multi-pleated Hepa filter, which traps dust inside. The ionizing silicone bulb helps to neutralize statically attached particles as the air passes through one-way valves on each end of the blower. As a result, the Orbit Blower releases dust- and moisture-free air.

CI VisibleDust Medium Format Sensor Cleaning Kit

This cleaning is my personal favorite. It comes with 4x 33mm VisibleDust Sensor Cleaning Swabs / Wands and 8ml VisibleDust Sensor Clean Solution. This Swab is the same size as your sensor so it just takes one clean swipe and the sensor is clean. Leaving you more time to shoot than retouching dust spots from your images.

CI Digital Back Sensor Cleaning Kit
