3/8″ to 1/4″ Bushing Removal on Phase One 645 cameras.
Phase One 645 bodies have a 3/8ths tripod mount at their base that is reduced to 1/4” with a bushing for mounting most smaller tripod heads. The bushing is held in place by a small phillips head fixating set-screw so that the bushing doesn’t rotate out as you trade out mounting plates or tripod mounts. In order to remove the 1/4” bushing the set screw must be removed first.

If you’ve already attempted to remove the bushing and it wouldn’t budge, do not attempt to remove the set screw without first re-tightening the bushing!! The load force set onto the set screw by loosening the bushing against it will prevent you from removing the set screw, likely resulting in a stripped set screw that can lead to your camera needing to go in to repair to remove it.
