Broncolor for generations has produced what many consider the finest quality strobe lighting components ever made. As the photographic industry transitioned from a dominant studio-based production process to one that was more open to location shoots, the integrity of wireless transmitters has become even more crucial to a successful operation. We’ve seen the industry respond with advances in ease of use and capabilities with wireless transmitters. To be completely fair, Broncolor has not led the industry in this regard, and considering their pedigree, it’s been an underperforming aspect of their solutions.

Introducing RFS 3

However, with this announcement, we’re pretty excited to finally see a substantial update to the existing RFS series with the introduction of the Broncolor RFS 3. We do not yet have one of these RFS 3 units in house, but the capabilities on the surface appear substantially improved.

The Broncolor RFS 3 is a completely new product. It is incredibly compact and lightweight, and features a high contrast, full color OLED touch screen display. Now when you hire photographic assistants, they won’t be lost trying to recall whether it is a full press or a half press or what level each light is actually set to.

The RFS features a modern touch screen interface, with swiping and tapping. Yet it also features a rotary control with buttons for a more tactile feel. The touch screen can be locked if necessary.

• For Hasselblad or Phase One products, the Nikon version will be compatible
• Backwards compatible with all RFS 2 devices
