Cambo Wide RS

Cambo’s Wide RS Series is the ideal photographic tool for the landscape, interior and architectural photographers needing less space for their equipment. The RS is considerably small and light, still offering combined vertical and horizontal movements. Geared movements allow for perspective control as well as stitching for wider views or even greater file sizes.
Both directions use accelerated gears for fast yet precise movements, both movements shift the image plane on the rear standard, leaving the lens position untouched. Next to the body’s shift possibilities, Cambo offers lensboards with Tilt-Swing options for many of the popular focal lengths, in order to increase depth of field or create selective sharpness.

Key Benefits

  • The RS has been designed for digital photography with high-end digital backs and features the best of Rodenstock’s HR Digaron-S and HR Digaron-W series, as well as a choice of some Schneider Digitar lenses.
  • Interface plates are available for backs that have a mount for either PhaseOne/Mamiya 645 DF/XF, Hasselblad-V, -H, or Contax 645 and Leaf AFi / Sinar HY6 digital backs.

Why It Matters To Us…

  • Combined vertical and horizontal movements allow for perspective control as well as stitching for wider views or even greater file sizes
  • Rodenstock and Schneider Digital lenses from 23mm to 180mm
  • Optional Tilt and Swing lenses offer greater depth of field
  • Compact design allows for easy transport and quick setup

Cambo Wide RS Family

The WRS-72|50 kit is built around an ergonomically optimized camera body. Based on the WRS-1600 introduced in 2016, the WRS-72|50 adds many exclusive design changes, including rounded corners, protected spirit levels, angled placement of a hand belt support and more. The special shaped handgrip is made of fine Rosewood. While keeping the unique body rotation between landscape and portrait position without removing digital back or lens, that help will protect your equipment against dust and damage.

The optics in this kit are Rodenstock’s finest 32HR-W and 90HR-SW, both in a tilt/swing lens panel for the best image quality and control. Additionally, Cambo has designed a new precision tilting function to the 90HR’s rear spacer, which adds an additional six degrees of tilt -or swing- on top of its lens panel movements. This offers you even more flexibility and image optimization.

The Cambo WRS-1600 series is a new addition to the Wide RS Family, made from high grade aluminum as used in aerospace technology.

The movements are driven by accelerated spindle gears, operated by XL size stainless steel drive knobs with excellent grip. These precision-geared controls provide architectural photographers with many of the image-placement movements they require, while giving digital photographers the ability to create amazing vertical and horizontal panoramic images through stitching several exposures together.
A unique feature of the WRS-1600 is its ability to rotate the full camera/lens/back assembly in the tripod mount between landscape and portrait mode within seconds, without removing any part and still keeping the optical center in the same position.
The Cambo WRS-5000 series is the top model of the Wide RS Family, made from high grade aluminum as used in aerospace technology.

An integrated weight compensation for the digital back equalizes the movements for rise and fall to the same effortless feeling.
The Wide RS body is for those photographers looking for something more compact than the Wide DS, but still in need of the image-placement shift movements.
This exciting addition to the Cambo Wide family features both lateral and vertical shift movements of the rear standard, hence the name RS. Additionally many of the Lenspanels can optionally be acquired with a Tilt-Swing possibility, to add Scheimpflug settings for increased depth of field, in both horizontal as vertical plane.

Identical to the WRS 1250, with the exception of the rosewood grips.
The Wide Compact is ideal for photographers who want to travel as light as possible but still be able to produce the highest quality images.
While the Wide Compact offers image-placement control movements, these will be by choice of orientation of the camera.
This results in an even smaller and lighter version of the Cambo Wide series. The Wide Compact body has the same accessory system support on all four sides, each accepting either one or two handgrips, a tripod mount, viewfinder, iPhone holder or the WRS-1090 Compendium.
The Wide Compact body accepts Hasselblad, Mamiya/Leaf, Phase One and Sinar digital backs. Mounts are available for digital backs with Hasselblad V-series and H-series interface, as well as PhaseOne XF/Mamiya 645DF, Contax 645AF, Leaf AFi and Sinar HY6. It also accepts the full range of WDS lens panels that incorporate the Schneider Digitar and Rodenstock Digaron lenses. Choose from focal lengths ranging from 23mm up to 180mm and more on request.
