CI Tech Tip: Batch Deleting In-Camera With Your Hasselblad X2D

In Hasselblad, Hasselblad CFV II, Hasselblad Tip, News, Steve Hendrix, X2D

A few years ago, our very own Brad Kaye wrote an article with details on how to batch delete images from your Hasselblad X2D or 907x/CFV 100c cameras via the Phocus software. He felt the urgency for this article because at the time, there indeed was no way to do this in camera. However, since then, this oversight by Hasselblad has been rectified with a firmware update. I wish I could tell you which firmware update, but suffice to say, if you are on a recent firmware version, you will now have the ability to batch delete in camera.

And … it couldn’t be simpler, really.

First, press the Play button
Next, turn the rear dial backwards to bring up the thumbnail browser
Then, with your finger, select by tapping the images you wish to delete and press the O button
Now you have deleted the images, and they disappear from view

That’s it! Very similar to many other standard cameras and even your iPhone,. when you wish to delete images. So for many, this will be familiar. Now, one big question – can you recover images if you have deleted them? Good question, and I don’t have the answer at this moment, but I’ll find out and update the article once I do. In the meantime, be sure to not delete any images that you do not wish to.

Now, as for that Brad Kaye tech tip for batch deleting images off your camera from Phocus, that may still be worth a read, so be sure to check it out.
